Mining operations and emergency management has been at the forefront in development of CommandPost®. The team has undertaken consultation with emergency services and mining operators. The platform is a turn-key solution that fulfils Emergency Management System (EMS) specifications, offering an interface with emergency services, allowing mines and quarries to meet requirements of the Coal Mine Health and Safety Act 2002 (CMHS).
The platform acts as a single source of information to ensure the safe, efficient, and effective operation of a mine. The platform can be utilised for daily operations, as well instantaneously deployed to operate within an Incident Control Centre during an emergency, providing a direct interface with emergency services and police (lead agency during a mine rescue).
The use of a centralised platform enables mine sites the ability to report issues, hazards and to coordinate response. This not only reduces downtime, but ensures there is a common understanding between the various functions of a mine as a situation unfolds.
CommandPost® is adaptable to any incident that may occur on a mine site and accommodates external agencies that may be required to participate in incident management. The platform is compliant with numerous state and federal Acts & Regulations, including but not limited to:
• Coal Mine Health and Safety Act 2002
• Coal Mine Health and Safety Regulation 2006
• Coal Industry Act 2001
• SERM Act 1989
• Coroners Act 2009
• Mine Health and Safety Act & Regulations
• Work Health Safety Act 2011
